Over the past twenty years, children and young people with Down syndrome have had more opportunities to be included in mainstream education (with the support of a teaching assistant), extracurricular activities, sport, culture, and everyday community life. Through projects, travel, social activities, and learning together, they develop knowledge, skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
The project “Learning and Practising Together” clearly shows how important support, encouragement, and learning from each other are. Every meeting, every friendship, and every chance to take part is an important step in fighting loneliness. In this way, we are building a society where everyone is seen, accepted, included, and given the chance to grow, develop, and belong
