Lead your way project
Delivers Key Resources for Supporting Employment Inclusion!
We are thrilled to announce the publication of two key deliverables from the LEAD YOUR WAY project that will significantly contribute to supporting employment inclusion for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities (DS/ID) across Europe.
1.Research Report on Supported Employment in Europe
The Research Report provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of supported employment for people with DS/ID in Europe. It offers valuable insights into the challenges faced by individuals with DS/ID in the labor market and highlights the crucial role that digital skills play in enhancing their employability. The report is the result of extensive research and input from stakeholders, job coaches, and people with DS/ID across multiple countries. This evidence base will serve as a foundation for the digital tools being developed as part of the project.
2.Good Practices Guide for Supported Employment and Digital Skills Development
The Good Practices Guide showcases 20 innovative and successful initiatives from across Europe that have effectively combined supported employment schemes with digital technologies. These practices highlight the use of AI tools, accessible technologies, and workplace adaptations that have improved job opportunities and support for people with DS/ID. This guide provides a practical resource for employers, job coaches, and policymakers looking to replicate these successful models in their own regions.

Why Are These Resources Important?
- For Job Coaches and Employment Professionals: The Research Report and Good Practices Guide offer valuable tools for improving supported employment services and incorporating digital tools into support strategies.
- For Employers: The Good Practices Guide provides practical examples of inclusive hiring practices and workplace adaptations, empowering employers to create more inclusive work environments.
- For Policymakers: Both documents offer insights into effective practices and evidence-based recommendations that can inform the development of policies promoting employment inclusion for people with disabilities.
These resources are an important step in the LEAD YOUR WAY project’s mission to reduce the employment gap for people with DS/ID. We encourage you to share these valuable insights with your network and consider how they can be applied to improve the inclusion of people with disabilities in your region or organization.
Stay tuned for upcoming events and webinars where we will discuss the key findings from the report and guide, and explore how these tools can drive change in employment practices!
Partners: The project brings together DOWN ESPAÑA (Spain), Hrvatska zajednica za Down sindrom(Croatia), the Malta Association of Supported Employment (MASE), Incotera (Romania), and AI4(a digital innovation company), combining expertise in inclusive employment, support services, and accessible technology.
