Lead Your Way Project

Levering technology to create a more inclusive job market for people with intellectual disabilities

DOWN ESPAÑA, member of EDSA,  is leading a new European project — Lead Your Way — focused on empowering people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities to access and thrive in the open labour market.

The project aims to reduce the employment gap faced by this group by combining supportive employment strategies with accessible digital tools. Over the next two years, we will:

  • Carry out European-wide research, including interviews and surveys, to better understand current employment realities
  • Develop a vocational orientation tool powered by AI
  • Co-create a digital toolkit for job coaches and disability professionals
  • Produce an interactive guide for companies to promote inclusive employment practices
  • Launch a self-assessment tool for businesses
  • Organize pilot tests and local events to ensure real-world usability and impact

Partners: The project brings together DOWN ESPAÑA (Spain), Hrvatska zajednica za Down sindrom (Croatia), the Malta Association of Supported Employment (MASE), Incotera (Romania), and AI4 (a digital innovation company), combining expertise in inclusive employment, support services, and accessible technology.

Help us with the first step: the European survey

As part of the research phase, we are launching a survey for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, whether they are currently working or not. The goal is to collect first-hand information about:

  • Their employment situation
  • Their experience using digital tools

The deadline to complete the survey is September 30

Please help us by sharing this survey with the people you support. If needed, assist them in completing it — their voices are essential.
