“Smart Tourism” and “Not by Chance Tourist”
The Smart Tourism European Project is presented within Grundtvig’s Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP); Learning Partnership. The project focuses on the development of new methods and tools through the mobility, active participation and exchange of experiences of people with Down syndrome. The project involves the participation of three Down syndrome associations comprising the national associations of Italy, Ireland and Portugal. In the follow-up project, Not by Chance Tourist, Down syndrome associations from Malta, Hungary and the Czech Republic participate. The projects foresaw the production of easy-to-read European city guidebooks.
It is possible to download guides of Rome, Dublin and Lisbon, Venice, Prague, Budapest and La Valletta. All the guides have been written in easy-to-read by people with Down Syndrome or other intellectual disabilities and tested before publication. The guides are intended for all tourists and include all kinds of useful information. Each guide is available at least in English and in the local language. Guides are usable also as “app”.
